Recently, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) of the United States pointed out that global chip sales are expected to grow by 13.1% this year, mainly driven by the increasing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips and the stable growth of automotive chip demand. The SIA stated that despite the decrease in total semiconductor sales last year, sales are expected to rebound this year as the market recovers.
SIA President John Neuffer believes that the global semiconductor market outlook is strong, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
Additionally, SIA's Director of Industry Statistics and Economic Policy, Robert Casanova, mentioned that although the automotive chip market started slowly, it is still expected to achieve a 6% growth.
Various signs indicate that the chip industry is recovering, showcasing potential growth opportunities in the fields of artificial intelligence and automotive.
